During the 2017 Christmas Tree Trimming visiting exchange students from several European countries were guess from a high school in Lexington, Nebraska. Flags from their various countries were hung from the tree.

Christmas Tree Trimming

Our annual Christmas Tree Trimming gathering began in the early 90s when Gil Alexander and Angela Bates decided to get the largest tree for the Township Hall. Prairie Dell Christmas Tree farm located southwest of WaKeeney, donated a free tree for over 10 years. Several years have been spent decorating tumble weed trees. Recently, we’ve added a ‘Legacy Tree’ with ornaments with names of deceased.
